At PEMA, our mission is to empower educators through coaching and collaboration to create equitable learning environments where every child sees themselves as capable and valued mathematicians.
We envision coaches and collaborators at all levels who value diverse perspectives and education that is accessible and accelerates learning to foster equity, thus establishing a culture where everyone sees themselves as critical thinkers and creative problem solvers.
Meet the Team

Diana Warnock
Diana was raised in Utah, but recently moved to Los Angeles after living on the East Coast for 25 years. As a former high school math teacher with 15 years experience in classrooms in Utah, Connecticut and New York, and over 10 years of instructional coaching experience in diverse settings on both coasts, she brings a wealth of experience and a passion for equity to her work in education. She founded PEMA based on the ideal that everyone can learn how to do math at high levels with the right experiences and the right mindset. Her vision is to create sustainable systems that elevate math education in every context.

LauraMarie Coleman
LauraMarie is from upstate New York outside of the city of Binghamton. She has worked as a special education teacher for students with a wide range of disabilities in grades PK-10 over the course of 15 years in the classroom. The last 10 years, LauraMarie has worked as an instructional coach and educational consultant in districts across the country supporting special, alternative, and regular education teachers. Her passion is ensuring that all students have access to grade-level content.

Patricia Perez
Patricia is a passionate educator with over 10 years of experience as a 4th and 6th grade teacher, reading specialist, and instructional coach in ELA, writing, and math. She is committed to creating rigorous, inclusive learning environments and believes deeply in social justice and the power of high-quality instruction. Her work is grounded in the conviction that every student is capable of learning and achieving at high levels.

Joshua Gentry
Joshua Gentry was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN, but has been living in California since 2013 where attended California State University, Fullerton. In 2016 he graduated with his B.S. in child development. Joshua has been working with students and teaching Math for the previous 10 years working with middle schoolers and high schoolers in the Bay Area in Oakland, CA and in LA. He has his Masters Degree in teaching, a very strong passion for math, teaching, and educating all students.
